Exposed electric cables on hoist leads to Health and Safety prosecution

Health and Safety inspectors banned a Barking garage M&K Autos Ltd from using a two post vehicle hoist when electric cables were noticed exposed.  Unfortunately the garage workers were not instructed to stop using the machine while it was awaiting repair.  On a revisit Heath and Safety Inspectors found the hoist still in use with no repairs to the cabling.  The company were fined 4,000 and 2,000 in costs
