Yes it’s that time of year again, minimum wage is increasing again for those aged 21 and over from £6.31 to £6.50 per hour and those aged 18 to 20 will also increase from £5.03 to £5.13 per hour.
This will take effect from 01 October 2014 so you must make sure that your contracts are updated to reflect this. You can either issue a memorandum to inform the employee of the increase in their pay, which will form part of their contract of employment from that date, or simply issue new contracts if they are in need of a refresh anyway.
