Every April there is a slight increase to the National Minimum Wage (NMW)/National Living Wage (NLW) and other key statutory payments such as Statutory Sick Pay (SSP). This April, it will be no different!
From 1st April 2021, the below hourly wage rate is applicable:

In November 2020 Rishi announced that with effect from April 2021, the NLW would rise to £8.91 an hour and would include people aged 23 and 24. Previously, the NLW was only applicable to people aged 25 years and older.
As of 4th April 2021, Statutory Parental Bereavement Pay (SPBP) will rise from £151.20 per week to £151.97 per week.
From 6th April 2021, SSP will increase from £95.85 per week to £96.35 per week.
Statutory Maternity Pay (SMP)
The first six weeks remains at 90% of the employee’s average weekly earnings. The remaining weeks will be at the rate as per 4th April 2021 or 90% of earnings if lower. From 4th April 2021, SMP will increase to £151.97 per week.
Statutory Adoption Pay (SAP)
The first six weeks is at 90% of the employee’s average weekly earnings. The remaining weeks will be at the rate as per 4th April 2021 or 90% of earnings if lower. From 4th April 2021, SAP will increase to £151.97 per week.
Statutory Paternity Pay (SPP)
This is paid for two weeks and, from 4th April 2021, will increase to £151.97 per week.
Statutory Shared Parental Pay (ShPP)
From 4th April 2021, this will increase to £151.97 per week or 90% of employee’s weekly earnings if this is lower.
