As a reminder, with effect from 1 April 2024, the rates for the National Living Wage and the National Minimum Wage are increasing.
To clarify, the National Living Wage was for those who are 23 years and over, and the National Minimum Wage is for those who are at least of school-leaving age. However, from the 1st April 2024, the age for the National Living Wage is being lowered to workers who are aged 21 and over.
With effect from 1 April 2024, the hourly rates of pay are:
Aged 21 and over | £11.44 per hour |
Ages 18 to 20 | £ 8.60 per hour |
Under 18 years of age | £ 6.40 per hour |
Apprentice | £ 6.40 per hour |
