On the Kent Trading Standards website they are raising an alert that rogue traders, far from being the good guys in times of need, are out and about using the recent flood damage to line their pockets with cash for what is often poor and overpriced work.

They will often make spurious claims about the safety implications of buildings, streets etc.  If in doubt, don’t agree to anything straightaway – get a second opinion and check your insurance cover before agreeing anything.
