British Heart Foundation: Health at Work Scheme

The British Heart Foundation has launched a new scheme, the ‘Health at Work Project’ trying to encourage employers to have a happier, healthier and ultimately more productive workforce.

Having researched the issue at length they believe that a healthier, less stressed workforce will lead to higher productivity. At present 172 million working days are lost each year due to sickness, a combination of physical, mental and emotional illness. Such absences have cost employers around £13 billion each year, it is therefore clear why the British Heart Foundation feel action needs to be taken, from within organisations, to try and reduce such a deficit to UK employers.

Employers who are interested in the Scheme, should log onto the British Heart Foundation website and register to receive more information about the scheme.
