Time for a holiday? Check where you get your travel money

At this time of the year many people begin thinking about holidays.  Following a super complaint from Consumer Focus the Office of Fair Trading have reached agreement with banks and money providers to make charges for purchasing foreign money clearer.

According to the OFT, travel money providers earned a massive 1.1 billion from credit and debit card use in 2010.

OFT report that Nationwide, HSBC/First Direct and HBoS already do not charge such fees in the UK for using a debit card and Lloyds, Barclays, RBS/NatWest, Santander and the Cooperative Bank will stop charges during 2012.
