The government has now announced the refund scheme for those who have paid employment tribunal fees.

This follows a decision taken by the Supreme Court where the importance of the fees and how they affected claims, was recognised.

In essence:

Up to 1,000 people will now be contracted and allowed the opportunity to completed applications from 20 October. Not only will the original fee be refunded, successful applicants will be also paid interest of 0.5% from the date of the original payment of the fee up until the refund date.

Further details of the scheme is to be released at a later date once the scheme is in full operation.
