Some good news for employers, as it is announced that the government propose to not increase key statutory payments next year.
This will include, maternity, paternity, and shared parental, which currently sit at £139.58 per week (or 90% of gross wages if lower). It will also include sick pay, which will remain at £88.45 per week.
A welcome relief to employer who have had to contend with increases year on year, however we fear that this has been done due to the new living wage rate which will come in from April 2015. This will be applicable to those ages 25 over, meaning they will have to be paid a minimum of £7.20 per hour.
