The introduction of the Consumer Rights Act in October 2015 has led to a huge increase in the demand for the services of Lawgistics. As a result of this we now find ourselves in the fortunate position of looking for another legal advisor to join the team.
As the legal team continues to grow so does our experience, knowledge and diversity of the legal matters that concern the industry. It is therefore hugely important for us to find the right person with an open and flexible approach that will compliment our existing team.
We are extending our search by asking for your help in sharing this opportunity with friends and colleagues that may be interested. Unsure of who we are looking for, we do know we want someone special. The wider we cast our net the more chance we have of finding the right person.
The main body of our work concerns consumer disputes some of which involve litigation, albeit predominantly cases in the small claims court. Although experience of assisting in Fast and Multi Track cases would be desirable. In addition to consumer disputes, we advise on a range of commercial matters including contract law, commercial property and employment. We also provide advice on Trading Standards matters and miscellaneous issues such as defending PPI claims.
As a minimum, the right candidate will have a law degree or equivalent such as the GDL or have attained or be working towards fellowship of CILEX. Ideally they will have completed the LPC or BVC and have experience within litigation and/or a consumer or Trading Standards advice setting.
In addition to the right knowledge base, they will need excellent case management skills, a sound drafting ability and the confidence to provide effective advice promptly over the telephone to our members who range from one man independents working from home to Directors of large franchise groups.
The right candidate will also have a pro-active approach to CPD and will enjoy writing legal articles for our website and various trade magazines. Experience in commercial and contract law would be desirable but not essential as would experience. They will obviously be required to work hard and be committed but in return will receive a competitive salary commensurate with experience and be working with a great team.
This is an interesting and rewarding role which although legal in nature, does not come with the constraints of 6 minute time recording or unrealistic commercial billing targets.
If you believe you have the necessary experience and attitude to enjoy and excel in this role, then please send covering letter with a CV attached to Joel Combes at [email protected] .
