We’re pleased to share that Team Lawgistics made their debut at the Peterborough Dragon Boat Festival

…and not only did we stay afloat, we paddled our way to victory in the Best Dressed Team category!

From Capsize to Comeback

Our journey to race day was far from smooth. During a training session just two weeks before the event, the entire team ended up in the water after a rather ungraceful capsize. Cold, wet and mildly traumatised, it would have been easy to quietly step away and stick to what we know best, legal advice for the motor trade.

But that’s not how we operate.

With the kind of determination we bring to every client case, the team regrouped, dried off, and turned up ready to take on the course, and the competition.

Courtroom Meets Crew

In true Lawgistics style, we brought a theme to the event: “Law on the Water.” The team dressed head to toe in black, topped off with traditional solicitor wigs, while our drummer stole the show dressed as a judge, complete with gown, wig and gavel.

It was a nod to who we are and what we do, and clearly the judges appreciated the creativity as much as the paddling effort.

Supporting Sue Ryder Thorpe Hall Hospice

The day wasn’t just about fun and fancy dress. This year’s festival raised over £25,000 in support of Sue Ryder Thorpe Hall Hospice, a local charity providing compassionate care and support for people with life-limiting conditions.

We were proud to take part in an event that combines team spirit, community involvement and a very worthy cause.

One to Remember

The team came away with some fantastic memories (and photos we’ll never live down). More importantly, we left with a renewed sense of team camaraderie, and a reminder that even outside the office, the Lawgistics team pulls together when it counts.

Thank you to the event organisers and everyone who took part in making the festival such a success.
