Biography
After building early careers in both retail and the Civil Service, Nona Bowkis retrained as a solicitor, qualifying in 2013 following a successful two-year Training Contract with a London firm. She began her legal work with Citizens Advice as an Advice Session Supervisor, before joining Lawgistics in 2014 as our in-house solicitor.
Since then, Nona has become a cornerstone of our legal team and, as of 2023, now heads up our legal department and Community Interest Company. Her leadership combines sound legal knowledge with a practical, down-to-earth approach that resonates with motor dealers across the country.
Over the past decade, Nona has steered both our clients and the industry through seismic changes — from the introduction of the Consumer Rights Act, the arrival of GDPR, and the fast-changing legal landscape brought about by the pandemic, including furlough and distance selling. She has earned a reputation as the go-to adviser for several key industry federations, and her insights are regularly featured in trade media and podcasts.
There’s not much she hasn’t seen. And with the volume and variety of motor trade cases we handle on a daily basis, she brings a wealth of real-life experience to every piece of advice she gives. It’s that practical insight that makes her training sessions so engaging — filled with stories that dealers instantly relate to, and lessons that stick.
