County Court Judgments (CCJs)

Figures released on 6 Augusts 2015 by The Registry Trust show a fall in the number of CCJs recorded against businesses.

In the first six months of 2015, 51,872 CCJs were entered representing a total value of £170 million – 12% less than in the same period last year.

The average value of a CCJ against a business was £3283.

If you want to check if you have any CCJs registered against your business or you indeed personally, you can check online at The Registry Trust by paying £4 fee at:

And don’t forget, if you do find yourself on the wrong side of a County Court Judgment, make sure you pay the amount owed within one month as that way it can be completely removed from the register. If you pay after one month, you can only have the debt marked as ‘satisfied’ even if you pay in full – in this instance, the CCJ itself will remain on your record for all to see.
