This week we received an enquiry from a company that used a trading style but had omitted reference to the Company from its headed note paper, which were likely to be made available to third parties.
Company law requires that certain information must appear on company headed paper, other official documents and websites to include:
1. the full name of the Company;
2. the registered number of the Company;
3. the registered address of the Company;
4. the place of registration e.g.. Registered in England & Wales.
If one Director is mentioned then all Directors must be listed. That does not include a signatory.
Reference to a trading style, trade address and other relevant contact details are permissible/desirable in most cases.
Third party logos should only be used with the prior written consent of the registered trademark holder.
