HSE proposals to exempt self-employed from Health and Safety requirements

In the government’s programme of deregulation HSE are consulting about the possibility of taking the self-employed out of the HSE requirements.

For some smaller motor retailers/repairers this may have an impact.

Some work will not be exempt and it remains to be seen how the proposals will work out e.g. work with acetylene may draw the person back into the regulated sector.
