Our office will be closed from 1.00pm on Friday, 23rd December 2022 until Tuesday, 3rd January 2023.
We would advise members that any court papers with a deadline during or just after these dates should be sent to us as soon as possible, as we will be unable to deal with them during the office closure.
If you are on your own annual break, it is a good idea to keep an eye on the post over the festive period, as you don’t want to be caught out by court deadlines. If you receive a County Court Claim over the Christmas/New Year break, fill in the one sheet document headed up ‘Response Pack/Acknowledgement of Service’, sign it, scan it and email it back to the court where it was issued. By doing this, you will gain time enabling you to respond with a more considered Defence to the claim than by rushing and sending off something which may be potentially damaging to your case.
Also, if you receive a document called ‘Directions Questionnaire’, please make sure it is completed and returned to the court before the cut-off date.
