In a recent case (Chief Constable of South Yorkshire Police v Jelic 2010) it was held that it would be considered a reasonable adjustment to swap the role of a disabled employee with that of another employee.  Secondly the retirement of an employee on medical grounds and reemployment in a new role could be considered a reasonable adjustment.

The findings show that it is necessary to think wide when reviewing such cases, and always seek advice.
