Contract of Employment 

This course is specifically designed for business owners, managers or staff who have the responsibility of employing and dismissing staff and dealing with all the intricacies of employment law without the benefit of any formal training in the subject.

The course will deal with the employment of staff, their rights, entitlements and restrictions.  It will enable you to put in place up to date contracts designed to meet your own needs and backed up with policies and procedures.

The course will be covering the following areas:

  • The contract of employment
  • Discrimination including race, sex, age, orientation, religion and disability discrimination
  • Employment policies
  • Disciplinary and grievance procedures
  • Family friendly policies

On completion, delegates will be able to:
  • Understand the need to carefully consider all issues arising from the employer/employee relationship
  • Put into action necessary contracts and policies to protect their position as employer
  • Apply the necessary diligence, training and communication to maintain good business needs
  • Understand the need to carefully consider all issues arising from the employer/employee relationship before seeking to dismiss, make redundant or otherwise terminate the contract of employment.
  • Understand the Disciplinary and Grievance procedures and how to apply them.
